Water Gap Pictures, Inc. in association with MMC Group recently wrapped principal photography on “The Paragon Cortex” Together with welldone.tv, MMC provided Director, John Kilker and Producer, Christian Hünnebeck, with a complete camera crew and DIT services throughout production. Of Directors of Photography, Alex Jentz and Leif Thomas (Well Done), and their entire German camera team, Mr. Kilker said “Throughout developing this film and preparing for this shoot, Christian and I have preached that professionalism is a philosophy.
In April 2012, Berlin-based PANIX Film GmbH and the MMC Group joined forces.
While MMC remains doing what it does best – co-producing movies – Sebastian Panneck of PANIX Film chips in his expertise in the development of movie content. That said, he will not only function as script-consultant and director, but will also join Maxim Matthew in MMC’s creative and executive management.
MMC was also involved in the production of a commercial for a new magazine and website called LOOX. Besides editing, animation and color grading, MMC was responsible for a paralax animation based on a 2D print advertisement.
As part of a wider campaign, the following clip was screened on Facebook and on McFit’s internal TV channel.
On May 3rd 2012, the documentary series “Deutschland Deine Dörfer” (“Germany Your Villages”) will premiere on ARD. While all twenty episodes of the first season have been produced by DEF Media Gmbh, we at MMC Group designed its openers and graphics.
Having been allowed full creative freedom, working with producers Kathrin Löschburg (DEF Media) and Steffi Fehnle (Hessischer Rundfunk) was a total pleasure. Not least thanks to their open minds, we ended up with an unconventional and beautiful result.

The launch of Zalando’s new sporting goods catalogue required the production of a commercial clip including a tricky 3D animation. A flipping magazine was needed – on the basis of 2D compositing only. Good thing they asked MMC for assistance: In our finished product, the pages turn as smoothly as a biceps curls!
As part of a wider campaign, the following clip was screened on McFit’s internal TV channel.
Because special effects look best when their design is integrated into the production process early on, MMC newly performs its VFX supervision in a practically in-house, affiliated studio.
Our new office space is located in Friedrichshain, right at the pulse of creative Berlin. Here, we finally have enough space for more creative artists and larger productions.
With editing and color correction suites, a render farm comprised of 50 cores with 2,8GHz and 1GB RAM per core, and a nearby, fully equipped studio (see other news), we now have everything we need at hand.
In another cooperation with McFit, MMC produced a commercial for a major new McFit Nürnberg cybertraining installation, as well as an animation as part of an advertisement for public screens.
McFit’s idea is to offer its members all benefits of personal training – virtually. On LCD screens, renowned coaches teach various gym classes 365 days a year, from 6 a.m. until midnight.
Our job included both the animation and finishing of the commercial. From a 2D photo, we created a 3D-inspired animation of a realistic, high-end cybertraining room.
Makes you want to jump in front of the screen and right away, no?
